The eighth edition of NYIOOC, the global olive oil competition, has concluded its week of revealing this year’s best extra virgin olive oils. Terra Delyssa, brand of the Tunisian CHO Group, won a “Silver Award” at the most prestigious olive oil quality competition in the world.
The NYIOOC World Olive Oil Competition is a highly regarded competition known around the world to all players in the olive oil market, whose list of winners is scrutinized by industry professionals. This competition thus rewards the best extra virgin olive oils of the year.
The annual event is organized by “Olive Oil Times” specialist and leading olive oil magazine. The results of the competition are followed by producers, importers, distributors, chefs, catering professionals and journalists from around the world. The jury is made up of renowned olive oil sensory analysts.
During the competition, they methodically evaluate each sample (900 oils from 26 countries) across six criteria (fruity notes, tangy taste, complexity, harmony, bitterness and persistence) to unveil the best olive oils from year.
